What are the tents like? Do they have heating and real beds?
Yes. Our tents are heated and furnished with real beds, proper bedding and heaters – no sleeping bags required.
How long is a stay at Camp Kangiusaq?
Most stays are 1–2 nights, giving enough time to explore, relax and join all the included guided activities before returning to Nuuk. If you would like to organise a longer stay for yourself or for a group, please enquire.
What should I bring for my stay?
Pack for changeable Greenlandic weather: warm layers, waterproof outerwear, sturdy shoes, and personal essentials. It is best to bring everything you need for your camp stay in a small backpack and leave your large luggage at your hotel in Nuuk.
Most hotels are happy to look after luggage for a day or two.
Bedding and heating are provided.
What is the weather like, and how should I dress?
Weather can change quickly. Dress in layers, with waterproof and windproof outerwear.
Is there electricity, Wi-Fi, or charging points?
Camp Kangiusaq runs on solar power, with a back-up generator. Every tent has power outlets for charging phones and cameras.
There is no guest Wi-F and no mobile phone signal.

What bathroom facilities are available at the camp?
Each tent has its own outhouse toilet. Shower facilities are shared, and we encourage short showers so that there is enough hot water for everyone.
How physically demanding is the stay?
A moderate level of mobility is required due to uneven terrain. At a minimum, you will need to walk short distances between tents and climb stairs to the tent platforms.
Activities can be somewhat adapted, but we are unable to offer full mobility assistance at Camp Kangiusaq.

How do I get to the departure point?
The boat to Camp Kangiusaq always departs from the Tidal Stairs (Tidevandstrappen) in Nuuk.

Do I need travel insurance to join the trip?
Yes, we strongly recommend valid travel insurance.
We do everything we can to realize your stay at the camp, but we are still remote and multiple factors are at play when traveling to and in Greenland.
A valid travel insurance will come in handy in Greenland almost no matter the destination.
What is the cancellation policy for Camp Kangiusaq?
If customers who have booked directly with Nuuk Water Taxi choose to cancel a booking at Camp Kangiusaq:
Up to 60 days before the start of the trip, all bookings are 100% refunded.
More than 30 days before the start of the trip, 75% is refunded.
More than 14 days before the start of the trip, 50% is refunded.
Less than 14 days before the start of the trip, it is not possible to get a refund.
If other rules apply, they will be stated in the confirmation email.
If bookings are made through a third-party travel agent, their terms and conditions apply.
What happens if my transport to the departure point is cancelled or delayed?
We are not responsible if third-party delays or cancellations prevent your arrival in time for departure to Camp Kangiusaq. We recommend spending at least one night in Nuuk prior to departure to Camp Kangiusaq to minimise the impact of possible transport delays.
What happens if the tour is cancelled due to weather?
In the very unlikely event that a departure to Camp Kangiusaq is cancelled due to weather or technical issues, we will endeavour to arrange an alternate departure the same day. If this is not possible, we will endeavour to arrange alternative equivalent accommodation. In these instances, you will receive a refund relative to the reduction in the value of the services provided.
Are meals included in the stay? Can you cater to dietary requirements?
All meals are included in the price. Most dietary requests can be accommodated with notice. Please inform us by answering the dietary preferences question when booking.
What is the Solo Traveller Supplement?
Our prices for Camp Kangiusaq are calculated on the basis of two or more people sharing a tent. When the tent is occupied by just one person, the supplement helps cover the full cost of hosting — including heating, servicing and maintenance — so we can offer the same level of comfort to solo guests as to couples or pairs.
