What makes Camp Kangiusaq special?
It combines Arctic wilderness with comfort, offering peace, nature, and remoteness.
What can I do during my stay? Are guided activities included?
You can explore nature, join guided hikes, kayak trips and fishing trips, relax, or head on your own hikes.
Will I see wildlife?
Whales, eagles, reindeers, seals & different birds are all more or less common sightings, but are not guaranteed. Keep your eyes peeled and bring binoculars!
How many guests stay at a time?
The camp hosts a maximum of 24 guests, in 12 guest tents to preserve peace and exclusivity.
Can I book alone? Is it safe for solo travellers?
Yes, solo travellers are welcome, and staff or guides are present in the camp at all times. Please note that there is a solo traveller supplement for guests who would like a tent to themselves.
When is the best time to visit?
Summer offers mild weather and long days, while late August and September offer dramatic sunset and sunrise light and solitude.
Can I take pictures/drones?
Photography is welcome.
Please check with us if you want to fly your drone and make sure not to disturb other guests or wildlife.
It is the drone operator’s responsibility to follow Greenlandic drone laws, which differ from EU and US laws.

Are guides always available? What safety measures are in place?
Staff are always present, with safety protocols, communication systems and evacuation procedures in place.
From 23:00 to 07:00 the Camp Manager is on call in the event of emergencies.
It is important to note that Camp Kangiusaq is about 100km from Nuuk. An emergency evacuation can take several hours and can be weather dependent. If you have any serious underlying health conditions that may require emergency medical care, we do not recommend that you come to Camp Kangiusaq.
Which languages do your guides and camp staff speak?
Guides and camp staff typically speak English, Danish (or another Scandinavian language) and sometimes Greenlandic.
